Walnut

(Juglans Regia, Juglans nigra)
Although somewhat porous, Walnut has a density comparable to other fruit woods. There is a distinction between American and European Walnut. American W. (top picture) has a homogenous chocolate-brown colour whilst European W. (bottom picture) is remarkably lighter, sometimes with interestingly interchanging colours.
